Tranny problems

My car is currently sitting in a shop with what might be some seriously messed up synchros... What transmission would you guys suggest for a jrsc GSR? I can get a good price on a B16A tranny but i dont know if the shorter gear ratios would be good for my setup. Would an LS tranny work better? Or should i just stick with the GSR transmission? Thanks.

My car has run with both the Type "R" transmission and the GSR transmission... the B16A trans has similar gearing as the "R", so I know it works well. You lose a little bit of top speed, and your cruise RPM's are about 10% higher than you have with the GSR trans... but my 1/4 mile times were about 2 tenths faster too.

You probably won't have enough power to make the LS trans worthwhile... but it is a cheap alternative.
